Reach the Un-reached Ministry(RETUM) staff went to Mbarara District for door to door evangelism/Conference from 27th July, 31st July,09, 2009. Mbarara district is in the Western part of Uganda and it is 300km from the Capital City(Kampala). We were a group of 13 people, we left Kampala on Saturday 25th July, at 11:am and arrived in Mbarara-Rubindi at Rehoboth Revival Miracle Centre at 5:00pm. Rehoboth Revival Miracle Centre is pastored by Pr. Simon Ntambirwe. On Sunday morning, we had a service at church (Rehoboth Revival Miracle Centre) which started at 10:00am and ended at 1:00pm. The conference started on Sunday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The community has a population of 40,000 people and well known of Catholicism, immorality, drunkenness, and witchcraft.

We started door to door evangelism on Monday 28th July,09 at 10:00a.m. Everyday from 11:00am up to 2:00pm we would move out into the community for door to door evangelism. The conference would take place everyday from 5:00pm up to 8:00pm. We had door to door evangelism from Monday up to Saturday, and the conference also ended on Friday night with an overnight which was a deliverance service. While doing door to door evangelism, we entered into a witchdoctor’s shrine. The witchdoctor welcomed us and accepted to pray from his shrine. We preached to him though he refused to get saved but his wife and his sister got saved. At the end of 5 days of doing door to door evangelism in the community, a total number of 120 people got saved.

Challenges:

  • People believe so much in religion (Catholicism) and don’t see the reason of getting saved.
  • Witchcraft and immorality
  • Transport

We thank God for this great harvest.
